Computer frustrations and Charles/Erik art

Well that is it, my poor computers coughed its last (Stealing mums laptop to post this) I turned it on yesterday for it to make some popping noises, then just not work at all. Been told my whole motherboard and processor have gone ;_; Poor Bodie (yes I named my computer :P), you’ve been with my 4 years, and lived thought my flogging you to death with Photoshop, I’ll miss you. Thank goodness I ordered a new one last week, just waiting on it to be built now ♥

I’m a bit depressed about everything going wrong though, so I’m going to post some art instead, and not bore you with my boring aggravating life, and to distract myself from moaning about my boring aggravating life XD






Who are they looking at? I have no ideas :D Obviously Erik let Charles read the map and they're utterly lost. (I swear I had a story in my head about this scenario somewhere, involving Charles joking about going back to ask the scary guy in the next town over who told them to fuck themselves for directions) 



Not like Erik minds, gives him a chance to distract Charles from sulking.(or obviously he's thinking back on the scary guy who said to fuck themselves, he thinks it's a smashing idea lol) 

I’m always so grouchy toward my own style lately. I’m that old lady in the corner shaking her cane at her own work lol Some days I want to be elegant and draw beautifully delicately inked lines, next I want to be all bouncy and cartoony, another day I want to concentrate on realism. One of these fine days I’ll make my bloody mind up what style I want to draw and stick to it, I know mine is comic book and going outside of that stiffens my work. STAY WITH IT WOMAN!!!! I’m torn between liking these (the colours anyhow) and thinking I was concentrating too much on getting them to look like their actors, there’s just something I can’t pinpoint that’s bothering me about them. I need to relax, go back to my usual comic style and not care so much about getting things right. I did try with the hugging one but still CHARLES IS AN EVIL BUGGER TO DRAW!!! *end art moan*


I started this sketch and just gave up. I like to call it Crapneato, because apparently I think i'm funny lol

Sorry, to those I owe emails and comments to, and more. I am trying to convince my mum to lend me her laptop more often until my computer arrives. Possibly be here by next week, but that's too long a wait. So, hopefully should be back to comment, reply and stick to the commitments I have, especially to Frida and Mel X_X  Best shoot off, i'll be online again as soon as I can.

I am constantly blown away by your ability to capture people's faces. It's ridiculous how good you are. I'm just enchanted with Charles' nose and Erik's lips - you get them so right and just dude. It's awesome. And I love the color schemes for both of these, muted and just so so pretty.

Thank you hun *blushes* I always find them so hard to do, yet at the same time faces are my favourite things to draw. Charles’ nose is wonderful, and high on my list of things I find evil to draw, it’s just so distinct and belongs to no one else. Mind you I’m a bit worried because I love drawing noses, I’ll give poor Charles this huge one, he’s too pretty for that XD

Lucy. Oh. My. God. Charles in the first pic. I can't look away from his eyes. *_* I literally saw this, stared at Charles, was a bit incoherent, went away to vacuum, and am now back, staring and trying to form a comment while repeatedly scrolling back up to stare some more. ;__; I'm not sure if it's because he appears in the exact middle of my screen, or if it was intentional, but the pic really seems to centre around his face, lolol. orz His face just glowwws and everything is perfect <3 Ugh, and I should stop drooling over him and let you know that I love everything else too. The background is, as always, beautiful, and Erik looks so charming <3 Aaah, I'd like to think that a random tourist noticed how hot they looked together and decided to take a photo, and Charles is smiling because he's always smiling and Erik WAS smiling at something Charles said, but then noticed the camera and got all scowly, but the camera managed to catch the smile just before it changed into a frown and I've talked way too long and I will just say that I love the other two pics too and you are my herooo. <3

THEIR FACES, their precious faces, I love them so much ;__; ♥ You draw them so beautifully, and I've always been envious about how you know how to use green in your color palette because that color (and purple) have always been a mystery to me. I love how you draw their lips, I love the backgrounds and the subtle movement you hint at with little details in otherwise still pictures. The second picture is so tender ;_;♥

I always pick myself apart for thinking I’m trying too hard to get them right facially and losing my style to being TOO realistic. So thank you ♥ Ha-ha, green is a right sod to get right, I find if you use a lot of browns, it tends to make it a bit softer and not so harsh ;) (purples pure evil) Erik is trying to make up for his bitchfest at Charles inability to read maps.

I’ll change it to BAMF-neto for you Bun. I think I may finish it, it has everything to do with the fact I want that costume in the movie to look cool and not thrown together in the lat minute assfdgadag!!!

Ahhhhhh oh wow, I love this. It's funny, I'm writing a fic that has a lot of going from motel to motel, place to place, and this really resonates on that level as well as just the plain old OMGAwesome level.

Oh wow! I really love the idea of them staying in motels a lot and getting to know one another over the most simplest of things as sharing a meal, a room, driving (it inspired the first picture) I really can’t wait to see that fic come to life ♥

MAN. You can REALLY DRAW these guys. They are so manly and seventies and in love!!! I love that they're wearing the same clothes in both pictures - it is like a tiny gay storybook. Maybe if you are trying to get back to your comics-y roots you should make a huge elaborate comic about Charles and Erik!

You should experiment with other styles if you want to, but just so you know: your default style here is gorgeous. I want to write some ridiculously long and gushy nonsense about colour palettes, but instead I will just say that....facial expressions...I love them. Especially both of them in the first and Erik's in the second.


....Also love that the little blossoms are basically heart shaped.

You know I think it is CT. I’m British so absolutely awful at knowing my US states (forgive me) But I did nab a CT map to use XD Thank you ♥ I’m a pain at always wanting to try out other peoples styles, I have so much love for others art ♥ My default style never lets me though so it’ll be around for quite a while *laughs* It means a whole lot that you like the facial expressions, I tend to be very subtle with them, so sometimes they can seem samey, so thank you.

Oh, Lucy, I'm so sorry to hear about your computer problems ;____; but on the other hand - holy, woman, these are stunning. Charles is so spot-on. I can see James McAvoy in him, it is so - and Erik, oh my God - I'm kinda bad at giving good feedback on art, but I absolutely adore the colours, the almost-sepia feel, how relaxed their poses are around each other. And the leaves, shaped like little hearts! Sneaky sneaky. ♥ There is just something so vulnerable and beautiful about that second pic, too, and I love it.

I always love the way you capture the little details that make the people in your illustrations tick, you know: the map, the patterns in their clothes, the details of their hairstyles. I can't stop looking at them in the first one; it's like you had them be caught by something and as a consequence we are caught by them too.
