Oh my god I had a thought, run!
Nov. 24th, 2010 01:19 pmGot round to watching ‘The girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ (it was brilliant) and it’s made me really want a Inception AU in that verse. Arthur being this disgraced journalist that has to solve a PASIV based murder and runs into hacker Eames (I only put Eames in Lisbeth's place due to the tat and general 'I can do what I want' attitude :D)
Now onto the scary thinky part XD I see a lot of people moaning about Inception artists not being able to render the characters realistically, but I have been thinking on this and drawings can be a lot like hand writing, it's unique to you. So take Tom/Eames for instance, people know what he looks like but everyone one of us is going to render him differently because of our styles. Everyone, be it realistic, cartoony, in-between or in my case all over the bloody place, has their merits and being realistic and getting the guys spot on shouldn’t be the be all and end all. People who look at our work should see the passion we put into it, the fun, the drama and the feeling, not just be bogged down in likeness. I just hate people dragging artists down because of that, hell I can draw them realistically if I wanted but my style always drags me off to comic book land where you get to muck about stylising things and I like it there :p
I think Eames was on my bus this morning as someone had written ‘Hello darling ♥’ on the window XD *is a dork*

on 2010-11-24 03:11 pm (UTC)Plus THard and JGL can be right sods to draw properly, Tom especially being an evil chameleon and all XD It's why a while ago I had a 'my oh god I hate my art' moment, i'd been getting comments about how people liked my more realistic stuff that it looked more like them and I should draw more like that. I got so stressed trying to get them right I almost gave up, but I figured I draw how I draw and stopped stressing ;D
LOL! It'll be like a Chinese finger puzzle of haters.
