platina is an utter sweetheart and helped me out so much <3
I'm not posting to coms till I improve on this because the art that is being produced for this fandom is just gobsmacking and I'm too embarrassed to show my mess. In fact I have to put up these two artist recs as I think they're fantastic.

Anything platina does is brilliant, I really can't gush enough about her art, so have a link to her two most recent posts HERE and HERE (a little NSFW so beware).
Plus red_rahl did the hottest Arthur/Eames/Arthur pic I've ever seen HERE.
I really want to be a good as those two so badly <3 *goes to doodle* Plus any artists who are reading this do you have any tutorials for drawing straight into say Photoshop with your tablet? I tried to ink my art using the pen tool and it's so bad but I love the looseness you get drawing that way as opposed to pencil.
And because I promised Jen here's some Eames/Arthur fanfic recs. I'm not joking when I say there are a lot of amazing things in this fandom and I can't keep up, but these are some that stood out to me (some AU's and knowing me probably terribly angst ridden XD).

(Non) Compos Mentis Hora Smoni: (Not) in Control of One's Mind at the Hour of Sleep - Summary: Arthur goes crazy very much in the same way he does everything else - efficiently, determinedly, and with a quiet steadfastness. Eames has always been a little crazy, and he doesn't need the wristband or straightjacket to prove it. The different faces he wears are enough. All of aimlesstravels fics are more than worth reading and honestly these recs would be nothing but her works but better stop now, this is my fave by far.
documentation of an affair - Summary: Letters, notes, phone calls, emails, and IMs between Arthur and Eames. (Just too cute for words)
Perfect Recall - Summary: While on a job, the target gets way too interested in Arthur. (Pure angst and mentions of rape, so do be warned, she also has some great follow up fics in the same universe)
Parlor Tricks -Summary: It has been ten months since the inception job. Eames and Arthur perform an extraction for Saito in Singapore, but the subject is not who they originally anticipated it to be, nor is the job as straightforward (or safe!)
Life In Virtual Reality -Summary: ‘Reality’s creeping into your dreams, Eames. Your security’s going to be ruined if you can’t get rid of me.' Eames finds himself haunted by projections of Arthur.
I do have a Delicious account with tons of good fic here that I update often, because to name them all would take ages.

DRAW!!'. I need to stop being in awe of others and actaully draw instead of gawping ;)

It's sometimes just one line that makes everything look completely different/better, ugh.
I hide hands a lot too, but honestly, it gets rather dull. And I'm sure you'll get bakc into it. O= Drawing is all about practice after all.

I aim to get in a lot of practice as I'm pretty obsessed with drawing the Inception boys right now ;D But I think a few days drawing nothing but hands should work out, you have to fight the boring bit's top get to the fun ones XD

on 2010-08-25 11:31 am (UTC)I always get very wonky lines with my mouse so it was brilliant when I got my tablet, even though I do find myself using the mouse without realising i am as i'm so used to it. pressing down too hard like I do with my mouse is what broke my tablet (I just need to buy a new pen as the nib keeps coming off)
It's the devil's OS I swear, half the time things don't wnat to work on it :(

Hands are generally as long as your face, for guys maybe a bit longer at times, idk.
If you draw limbs that connect to a person not on the canvas you might want to check if the person could actually be standing like that. As you have it right now, Arthur would either be HUGE or very short. Idk.
What kind of tablet do you have? Wacom lets you buy just the nibs.
Haha, I htink I wouldn't mind it as long as I just got a new computer.

on 2010-08-25 01:38 pm (UTC)I use my own hands as reference, I did for the redline, actually. Nothing wrong with it. You just gotta transform them into more male ish hands, the structure stays the same.
I hope I'm not annoying you with any of this. Some people really don't like it when you point out the mistakes in their art.
Well, at least those aren't as expensive as a whole pen. (I had to spend 100€ on a new pen for my intuos3. :/ )
It's worst when it happens while you are drawing, AND DIDN'T SAVE FOR A WHILE. OR WHILE YOU ARE SAVING. (Because the latter means the whole file is ruined... )

Bloody hell! a £100? O_o Wacom are wonderful but they do like to price their stuff up to ridiculous proportions.

That’s good. I’m happy with my bamboo because at least I know it’s not that expensive and I’m so clumsy it’s been knocked over and everything. I’d love an intuos but I don’t trust myself with something so expensive, it would probably die the first time I got it D:

.. haha, mine already has cracks and stuff. I'm super clumsy too and electronic stuff never lasts long with me. Hence why I had to get a new pen. ;/ But yeah, it was a birthday present to myself 2 years ago. xD
