Finally saw the end of Merlin season 2. It was a little bit predictable. During the father/son scenes, whenever they were talking about going to see Merlin's mother I was thinking 'oh this can’t go well' and it didn’t. The dragon surviving also wasn't entirely surprising. I had a feeling after last year they weren't going to really upset the status quo, so hence no 'coming out' of Merlin's magic, Uther's still alive and so on. So next year the only difference will be that Merlin can't go to the dragon for advice every episode and Morgana's going to occasionally appear muttering darkly and staring into cauldrons, probably with Morgause as the main villain for the season. They could be a little bit more ambitious and format-changing but overall this episode was mildly disappointing after the much more dramatic episode last week. They need to add some danger and get out of the status quo they have set for themselves.
Though I do think it’s adorable that Merlin and Arthur show their friendship through teasing and that Arthur was really trying so hard to tell Merlin that he saw him as a good friend but Merlin wasn’t quite listening :D The prat ;)anon meme.
