I love drawing those moments in life that are still slashy if you look. Mind you Jim's full of germs so I think Bones is keeping his distance on purpose :)

I always loved that line in the new film and this (excellent!) art really taps into that dynamic. It's exactly how I am with people I love; I hate seeing them suffer so much that I can be quite short with them when I hear them complaining! It may seem backwards but that's how it is :p

And I'm sure Jim is a supremely whiny patient as well! No one could ever rightly accuse Bones of being an impatient man ^_^

That line fit's so perfectly on the dynamic I put into my art and I very much think Bones would be quite short too but he does care. Bones has probably seen his fair share of nasty illnesses so Jim complaining about a cold like it's the end of the world (which is why he looks so grumpy and Jim so...well he's pouting) would make him want to throttle him :)
