And after my art funk I doodled some pics for fun. The first is terrible but I tried to draw Chris Pine from Star Trek within 20 mins with no rubbing out *meep* This was what I came up with, yeah I suck at realism but it was fun scribbling like hell and trying not to mess it up

Good practice for the Star Trek Big Bang that starts on Sunday *ultra meep*

Next i just felt like designing a space costume so I came up with a 'I was Teenage Space girl' drawing complete with bad teenage posture LOL. Going to colour to make her look like an old 1950's B movie poster with spaceships and monsters XD

Also having a small problem with seeing a piece of art on DA. I drew this last Christmas yet when I look at my gallery I can’t see it at all, it’s gone vanished, poof! Can you guys see it? If no well I have no idea what I’ve done there O_O

If that's your "sucky" realistic portrait of Pine!Kirk, then I can't wait to see some of the good ones. And it almost makes me hope I get an artist like you for my fic. I saw some of your other work, too, and I like your style.

Realism is a different technique from illustration. I've done both, and they both present very different challenges. I actually find portraiture easier than illustration, but you've got the skills for both.

I know it's because you decided to do this sketch no-erasing, but the only real glitches are that Pine's forehead is actually bigger (he's got a pretty high forehead) and his nose is a bit more slender/delicate. (I did his portrait a while ago, and studied his features pretty closely for that.) However, you've got the attitude and personality PERFECT, which is what you need to do illustrative work. I like it. :)

Haha thanks for such a kind comment and you know I have a feeling it's probably worked out better than if I sat and concentrated to make it better, I always think good things come from scribbling than when i'm paying too much attention to what i'm doing. Ah you never know you may get a really good artist as some people I know who are amazing have entered too :D I can't wait till Sunday.

Again thank you, I will admit I find illustration a tad easier than realism because you can cheat a little bit and concentrate on the moment and emotion more than getting things right. Though of course making people look like they do is very important too :)

I always forget Chris has such a big forehead and I'm afraid his poor nose sufferd from my habit of making them pudgy :D Though I'm really happy you said I captured his attitude as having done a lot of cartoony work in the past it's been a struggle to get that right when it coms to drawing a real person.

We just submitted our rough draft for bigbang. *le sigh* We're so lazy right now and there's so much not written yet.
I really love your pics! The way you draw realistically, but still kind of soft and just so pretty. *__*

That's okay though, I mean you only had to submit a rough draft for the artist to work from didn't you? I got confused a bit on what we had to do to begin with. Plenty of time to write up more in the mean time :)

Thank you ♥ I'm a sucker for pretty anything so it does reflect in my art somewhat :) It would be amazing luck if I did get your fic :D I'm going to have to make sure I'm online Sunday so I can pounce.

PS I got Demons Lexicon yesterday and I'm loving it. Nick and Alan are so Sam and Dean and Nicks so grumpy ;)

I'm not sure if our fic is somewhat good but it has tons of hurt!Jim, that's for sure. *g*

@Demon's lexicon: Nick is an adorable little psycho. I think he was only ever able to love Alan and nothing else and I found him fascinating. =) They're so co-dependent and incest-y it's awesome. ;)

I'm only half way through but already I'm laughing at Nicks 'I have no feelings' yet he's all over Alan like an itch if anything upsets him. The small scene when he was hanging over Alan's chair trying to comfort him in his gruff way was so cute :)
