Yesterday my shadow was taken from me…

My dog Kaneda took a turn for the worst and we had to put him to sleep.

This hurts so badly, I keep thinking he’s still there and I can hug him but he’s not and never will be. I lost another family member who I loved so much. He was the most wonderful dog, so happy, cheeky, as bright as hell, you couldn’t get anything past him, he really knew what you were saying to him and was such a little fighter. When he had his stroke ages ago he never gave up and even being so ill he still kept going but his body couldn’t keep up with his spirit. I miss him so badly.

Kaneda you weren’t just my beloved dog but my best friend and I love you so bloody much. Good bye my darling and say hello to dad for me.
I'll probaly be offline for a few days but thank you to everyone for their support (sorry if I haven't replied to you yet) you wouldn't believe how much it meant to me ♥

Lucy, I'm so sorry. Kaneda seemed to be such a great dog and a great friend. I always adored the pictures you posted of him. I can't really say anything that would make it better, but I'm sure he felt very loved throughout his life and had a wonderful time being with you.

Aw, Lucy, I'm so sorry. I understand how unbelievably painful losing a pet can be, especially one that has been with you as long as Kaneda had. It really is like losing a very close member of the family. But it sounds to me like you managed to give him all of that love you feel for him in his lifetime. At the very least, the left this world a very beloved part of a great family who, in the end, did what was best for him at the time. He sounds like he was a real trooper through it all, too.

I'm very sorry.
As most people have said, Kaneda seems to have had a very happy life. At moments like this one, that's what you should remember.

I'm sure he had the best possible life imaginable with you and that's a lot more than can be said about most other dogs.

I've been trying to think of what to say to this all day. I'm just glad that you got to know him and you got to share a big chunk of your lives together. ^^ I'm sure you and him were the better for it. It's really hard to lose somebody you love that much. But I'm sure that he'll live on inside of you and your family's memories of him for the rest of your life. (may sound cheesy but I mean it)
