Opinion needed on art

 Anyone remember that Neo mag character competition I said I’d enter well I just realised the closing date is on the 31^st so eep I HAVE to get my entry posted by Tuesday morning at the latest. Only problem, I don’t know which of these two doodles I liked to enter.

Ciara said to do an astronaut so I went for a retro looking space girl design, complete with robot (she’s leaning on the unfinished one) which I’m trying to design. I liked her till I did the next one who…

my tough ninja lady and yeah it’s not that original but she’s supposed to be one bit of a two part design for Ninjas Vs Pirates, (I was being silly)but I can’t finish my pirate girl at such short notice) Her clothes are going to have ornate designs on them but I’ll do that in Photoshop as I'm lazy ^_^.

 

So guys who do you think I should enter? I’m kinda moving more toward the ninja but argh it’s so hard. I’ve gone for my cute style instead of my normal one because I’ve seen their past competitions and they seem to like the cuter entries more. Though my next challenge after this is to do some more realistic character designs like my elf here (okay she’s still cute) so I can send them off to games companies.

Oh going to watch the Dark Night in a bit, I’ve tried to avoid the spoilers all week but I can’t wait. I hope we get the Watchmen trailer ♥

And on a weird note I think there must be something in my room that acts as a butterfly haven. I’ve had to chase about 9 of the things out not to mention saved one from a spider when it flew into the web outside my window. Urgh I HATE spiders. It’s far too hot to be chasing butterflies *passes out*

Hmmm I like the ninja girl better, just the pose overall and the look of her XD Love the clothes too.

Yay thanks, one vote for the ninja lady ♥ I think it's the clothes I like about her because they'll be fun to colour.

I've probably spoiled myself rotten already but as a huge comic book geek I just had to peek at those spoilers floating around ^_~ I can't wait *bounces*

Personally, I like the first girl more, because she's cute (moe!) and has many charming points (^^)
I can't help it. Between cool women and moe girls, I'll always like moe girls more.

Oh first vote for the space girl ♥ Oh i never realised she looked moe but she so does ♥ To be honest I have a soft spot for the cute too, which is why she's getting a plushie robot friend to accentuate the moe-nes.

Personally I like the space girl better. I think her clothes are more unique and different. I've seen many variations of the ninja girl. The space girl looks more like an original character while the ninja looks more...average.

The ONLY thing i'd change about the space girl is her mouth. She's so cute! Why isn't she smiling?? *smile*

Thank you, your so right she is more unique so it seems that she's going to be my final choice :D Yeah I know ninjas are used to death but I just had to draw one.

Ah I'll see what she looks like with smile but she's pulling a face because her rocket isn't working, it's my badly drawn 'oppps' face XD

I like the space girl better! She's so original and cute.. I don't feel any 'cliché' out of her, and I love that it feels so retro..! Like an idea of a 50's or 60's space girl. The ninja chick is pretty awesome, but, ninjas end up being such a been-done idea.

But I do agree that maybe she should be smiling..! ^^ She's so cute, why isn't she happy? (I love the mouth the way it is, so if you just tweak the corner of her mouth upward instead of downward, she'll look adorable.)

Thank you Kyrie ♥ Yeah looks like I'll be choosing her, I do love retro designs anyways. May do her a special 50's B movie logo too if i have time XD

I know she should but I just had to do a silly opps face on her, her rocket is malfunctioning you see XD I'll try to put a smile on her and see if it looks better.

I'll still finish my ninja some time though as I have a ace idea of drawing a game like fight screen with her and a pirate lass facing up against one another XD
