Today I turned my eyes square by watching far too much telly and films for my own sanity. BEWARE may be spoilers and fangirling. Oh and bitching about 3D films.
Doctor Who S5x1: Well what can say but FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!!!! It looks so different visually; the whole dark fairy tale vibe shines through. Matt has a bit of Tennant's Doctor still but he's also an exuberant, mad professor with a scary streak. I think I’m a little in love with him. Amy’s introduction was really sweet as being a little girl just waiting for her long lost imaginary friend to turn up again, and not to mention said friend eating fish fingers and custard together*sniggers* Not great to watch after I’d had my tea.
The new TARDIS really is beautiful, and they seem to be suggesting we'll see more rooms (though to be fair they did that in The Unquiet Dead, and all we ever saw in the 4 years that followed was the wardrobe).
I liked the story and it was a good for a first outing. It was the coming soon which blew me away though, OMFG, looks like some rip roaring stuff. Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels and Silurians all to come. Can't wait. And already a hint at the 'end of the universe' series finale with the 'cracks' appearing in time
Ashes to Ashes S3X1: As Viv so marvellously put it, BUGGER ME SIDEWAYS. I enjoyed this one a lot because of what it’s seems to be setting up for Gene (okay scared for him too) Slapping a coma patent isn’t the way to go Gene, and Chris you don’t bring a melon instead of grapes LOL. They seem to be setting Genie up as the bad guy in the audience’s eyes as much like Keats says "You love him now but wait until you find out what he's done..." GAHHHH! The hints to what Gene may have done to Sam have me worried for the relationship I adored in life on Mars ;_; Plus who’s the dead copper Alex is seeing? People think it may be a young Gene but after watching too much Lost I’m not going to twist my brain thinking too much and enjoy the ride.
Clash of the Titans: Incredibly disapointed and didn't think it was a patch in the old 80's film, what is it with me being meh about films lately? I just felt it was too much like a game, just setting up the goals till the big boss fight and even that was a letdown. Oh don’t watch it in 3D as it’s a waste of money. It’s not true 3D like Avatar, just money grubbing bosses running a 2D film through a 3D filter so they can charge extra, it looks like crap.

on 2010-04-03 11:28 pm (UTC)I was expecting a remake of the original (WHICH I LOVE) but got a pile of cinematic poo. IO??? IO???? AREN'T YOU A COW? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IO? Total lack of Beebo as well.
But, I did manage to catch Hot Tub Time Machine which was AMAZING! Incredibly funny and perfectly 80's :D

on 2010-04-03 11:50 pm (UTC)I was so pissed when they fobbed Beebo off and stuck him back in the box, and no Athena either. Though Zeus silver disco suit kinda made up for that in LOL's :)And wasn't medusa meant to be horribly ugly not a sexy snake chic? OMG! It never hit me she was Io the cow, I think I got distracted by Zeus turning into a Bald eagle in Greece where they're are no bald eagles :(
Damn I really want to watch that but it's not out over here yet, I love the 80's so much ♥ Though I'm watching kick Ass on Wednesday so I hope that's a as good as the comic XD
