2.5 DAY’S UNTIL I SEE JOHN SIMM IN HAMLET!!!! FLAILS A LOT!! FLAILS A HECK OF A LOT!!!

Just noticed my local arts center is doing an exhibition for people in the town so I may enter something. Not sure what as I’d say my art tends to be American comics or fantasy, so don’t know if they’d let me do something like that alongside the fine art stuff, but I haven’t used my water colours in forever and I want too. May use these old characters and enter it as a children's book  illustration :)

Also, art question to those who draw straight onto computer, HOW DO YOU DO IT SO WELL? I’m wobbly, so very wobbly and my lines come out too thick and not pencil like at all. Also what brushes do you like to use, what are the best to use or any helpful tips as I’d like to try? Ect, ect XD

Also I love this Inception pimp yourself meme so many great fics I haven’t read *heaven* And they do art recs too, may do it if I can kill my shyness. Though Inception fandom you're lovely, don't stop being awesome. OH talking about awesome if you haven't seen Innueneko's new drawing do so now (glares)  It hit every one fo my kinks X_X AND so did Fanlay who draws noir Eames and Arthur and I adore her for it ♥

On a bad note I think my depression is back, I feel really down and like I want to cry a lot lately  *bugger*

DEPREsSION SUCKS. D: /HUGS

Haha, why link me to those amazing artists again, they are making me doubt myself all the time. ;-;

Also, if you wnat thinner lines, work on a higher resolution and then resize it to smaller. ;D That's the whole trick. (Especially for like PS that doesn't go below 1px lineweight.)

I hate it and I thought i'd got rid of it, but been feeling so down recently D: But I'm going to do fun things and try to not let it get to me so much.

Ahhh sorry hun, I know how you feel though, I doubt myself also when I see their art because it's amazing. I want their brains *evil laugh* But it's always great to have artists to look up to because it gives you something to attain, to keep trying to improve yourself (though kicking the doubt in the arse is HAAARD)

Thank you, i'll have to try that. Just need to stop with the wobbly lines but I guess that's practice XD

D: I wish I could help you somehow? But I kinda have a hard time with it as well, hahahaha.

I don't wnat their brain, just their skills. :D! Idk, idk. I suppose It kinda wnats me to get better, but also question why I'm trying at all. Idkidkidk. I don't actually seem to improve. OTL

Haha, if you work with PS you cna always try out texture brushes and stuff in your colouring but ehh, I'm not really that good with digital art either. :U But yeah, draiwng bigger might be a good start.

ALSO, PROMPT ME SOMETHING FGSFDS. (I keep thinking noone wants my art or I have no friends. OTL.)

I'll be okay hun, I bested it before and I can do it again XD Sorry you have to put up with it too *hugs*

You’re not alone and I think every artist questions themselves and wonders why they try when they think they don't have the skill of another (and you do sweetheart). Plus people like a myriad of styles and just think how dull it would be if everyone had the same one. And I’d say you've improved loads, maybe you’re like me right now, I’ve improved from last year but I've hit a mental barrier that I can't seem to get over.

Yeah I’m going to try new things in PS, I always stick with the safer brushes and I'm only just getting used to my tablet over using my mouse. I miss my watercolours but I love the freedom digital gives you to mess up XD

Oh, I'm stuck myself but I’ll have a good think and get back to you XD (Aww you do silly XD)

PS sorry for any slow messages, my computer got a virus 2 hours ago and I’m a bit worried as it keeps crashing my whole computer before my V.program can delete it ;_;

I need a hug icon ;_;

*hugs back*

I'll be okay dear, not going to let it get me down this time. Though I think maybe it's the cause of me being very critical of my art, going to quit that right now XD

OMGGGG you are SO LUCKY!!!! I hope you have a brilliant time!!!

Sorry for not commenting on your journals recently DX I've been busy. But I've been catching your art posts, and everything you've drawn so far has been wonderful! :D

As for Photoshop, I usually only ever use one brush - the one that doesn't change size, but changes opacity with pressure sensitivity, if that makes sense? That's for lining and shading, then I use a solid brush for laying down block colours.

Drawing straight onto computer is weird- what tablet do you use? I've found that my ability to draw changes quite a lot with different tablets. Also, I hardly ever draw just one straight line like I would with a pencil. I have to sort of... sketch it? Little lines like - - - - - all over each other. Does that make sense? XD Hope this helps a little, but be assured that your art is ALWAYS fabulous <3

*hugs* Hope that the depression goes away soon. If it's partly because of your feelings towards your art, I'm sure your fan club would surely give you a pom-pom danceto counter it. Really, your stuff is awesome. :)

Thanks Fern, i'll be beaming and bouncing all day. I have a friend who keeps teasing me that the night I go it'll be his understudy instead. HE BETTER NOT!!!

Ah yeah I know the one you mean, i'm always curious to know what people use as I can't tell when I look at their art. Thanks for the tips, i'll be sure to have a play XD

I use a Wacom Bamboo, it's only an A6 so it's quite tiny really. I think the size may be a hindrance to me as I tend to draw quite large. Ahah the one straight line thing may be why mine looks wobbly as I'm trying to use it like a inking pen on paper and being quite rigid. And thank you *squishes*

I think it's just a whole heap of things that are building into a bigger thing, mostly I think I'm just frustrated at being stuck in my town when i'd like to leave, but things keep me here. I'm kinda taking my depression out on my art which is daft and wrong :( And you're too awesome to me *hugs again*

I just think it enevr feels like you are improving fats enough? :/ Always unsatisfied with the level of your own skill! (I don't want other people's styles, I do like mine and I'm actually not bad at slightly changing it to adapt to certain things. /shrugs I want their SKILLLEVEL. :U +2)

I'm always worried about my laptop crashing, that's why I hardly ever work in PS. :/ I miss PS brushes tho, they make a lot of things easier. (Texture and so on.)
Digital is sometimes slower than trad art tho, especially since you CAN correct so much. xD (Hence why I ink the comic on paper.)

You got rid of your virus yet? D:

Yeah I know what you mean, it always seems to you that your skill isn't enough. I get nervous to look in the coms lately because I feel so fail, every time I get blown away by peoples imagination and skill and feel useless.

PS crashes a lot and is so slow, I'm trying to use SAI a lot more but I do love that you can do so much cool editing in PS. Yeah when I did traditional I knew what to do and stuck to that, but digital let's you mess about so much I can spend hours changing things.

I think so, took me two virus programs and 5 hours but nothings popped up or crashed *crosses fingers*

Haha, same here. I've bene itching to post something new to a com but I don't have anything GOOD enough and not enough doodles to post them yet.. XD (That's why I do bulk posts, the amount hides the general fail a bit.)

Sai lets you work with and save as PSD, so you ccna just do the painting/lineart and so on in sai and then just move over to PS for editing/effects, if that's any help.

I hope so, having to remake your whole computer because of somehtign like that sucks. :/
