I don’t really cry but I sure as hell did watching the end of Ashes to Ashes. Stuck between heartbroken and well heartbroken D: Don’t get me wrong it was a riveting watch and brilliantly acted (the guys really blew me away) but oh my god how many questions did it throw up that just don’t make sense? I said my brain would pop and I was right. LOM and A2A will be missed especially with such genius character writing.
Sam Tyler: Because I loved her!
Gene: You great... soft... sissy... girlie... Nancy... French... bender... Man United supporting POOF!
See can't beat such male bonding XD
The stuff under the cut won’t make sense as it’s just me throwing out thoughts and questions just to get them out and done with then I can go lalala back to loving LOM and Sam and Genes bitching ;)
• I do like that Sam even though he worked out it was all Gene’s fantasy world never told Gene the truth. That was so sweet of him and shows how much Sam really cared about Gene.
• Gene not being aware he was dead and forgetting makes sense - if a cop dies quickly he/she doesn't realise, doesn't remember their former life and death until reminded; but if they die more slowly - in a coma first, like Alex and Sam, hovering between life and death - they are aware of both worlds. They exist at another in-between level of this in-between realm.
• How come if it is Gene’s fantasy world he knows what things from 1973 or 1981 would look like because he died in 1953? Does say Sam’s or Alex’s minds merge with his so he knows that world. And for that matter how does Chris or Rays infiltrate to make a believable 1973? Or am I over thinking this, okay disengaging mind….
• Plus if its Genes world does that mean Harry Wolfe was the man who left Gene to handle the robbery himself when he got shot? That confuses me because if Gene’s there to help others in their purgatory, well does that mean that Sam also has to help out Gene because Harry and even the killing Gene was accused of are all part of Gene’s story not Sam’s?
• So many questions regarding LOM as if it is a world of Genes creation then what about the times when Sam solving a case helped in the future, like Maya’s killer or Crane torturing Sam? Or was that just all in Sam's mind. I’m so bloody confused!!!! Plus how would Gene feel about Sam killing himself to be part of his fictional world (need fic). Was Annie murdered by Sam’s dad? If that’s the case he never changed that arghhhhhhhhhhhhh
• Wait a sec did Keats get Litton because I’d hate him to have been taken? It’s bad enough he got Viv *sob*
Yeah shutting up now and wipping all those questions away. But all in all I love Gene’s world and I love how emotionally invested you become in it. I’m still sobbing for Alex not being reunited with Molly; I was so hoping she would. And Shaz finding out what happened to her was heart breaking. I don’t think there's a character I hate, yeah even you Keats, you bastard. Phil was bloody fantastic and if I wasn’t in love with Gene already, well…;)
I think I have to draw Sam and Gene sitting on the stations roof watching the stars now XD

on 2010-05-25 02:48 am (UTC)Your questions about ht e knowledge of the decades isn't overthinking it - it's awesome! (Supports the theory that IT WAS ALL A HALLUCINATION brought on by an explosion from the chemical plant that happens to be next door to the station.)
LoM is completely different. Sam DID travel back in time. Stu is the one who died and he's trying to make himself into Gene in a2a. THIS IS THE TRUTH.
Come. Join me on the denial boat, if you wish. (But not before pretty Gene/Sam bonding pictures are drawn.)

on 2010-05-25 09:39 am (UTC)Heh thanks, though that's the bit that breaks my brain so I'm all over it being a spill or maybe Litton slipped too much LSD into every ones morning cuppa as a prank ;)
Ohoho I LOVE that, Genes guilt and anger drives Stu on to do good deeds :D Meanwhile Sam and Gene are back in 1973 slamming each other against walls, filling cabinets... over the desk ;)
*Dons her life preserver and rows like a man woman* (many, many Gene/Sam pictures have to be drawn to get over A2A ;D)

on 2010-05-26 02:33 pm (UTC)That's right! One way or another, they're all high, wandering 'round the station and drooling on things.
INDEED. :D And imagine if/when Gene died and saw Stu again... he'd probably hit him. Hard.
MUAHAHAHA. We may need a bigger boat because I foresee many LoM fans joining us.

on 2010-05-27 12:51 pm (UTC)Sam would be in the background smirking because he's spared his punch of the day :) Then he would help up Stu and bitch out Gene for hitting his brother then get his punch of the day :)
We'd need one the size of a aircraft carrier XD
